Anyone ever used one? I've been trying to get into a weekly chat session that uses IRC, and I get a "The page cannot be displayed" message in both FF and IE. When I tried to go to irc.everywherechat.com, a page came up that contained nothing but a URL for the title and a heading that proclaimed, "It works!" Whoever wrote that page was sadly misinformed, because it does not, in fact, do anything. lol
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Becky
Um, IRC isn't a webpage. You need an irc client from these dudes over here. Then you can grab sjams from randylaptop, follow the instructions to install it, open up your irc client, and type this replacing the spellings with the appropriate punctuation marks.
slash server irc dot stuffandthings dot com
Plenty of tutorials everywhere around on how to use IRC, a simple google search for irc tutorial should provide you with plenty.
There is also a plug in for firefox called chatzilla.
Do a search for it in the plug in finder and it should come up.
It should work with the main screen readers, including NVDA.
Saves you fiddling with scripts.
There's an irc client for pacmate on braille soft.
